Wood Finishing

Wood staining is a skill. A multi-step method is used to get rich wood tones. Before staining, the wood must be properly abraded to create a uniform scratch pattern to ensure rich, deep colour coverage and avoid blotchiness. We make use of different types of stains and dyes to achieve the look we are after while providing Wood Finishing Services. After we’ve achieved the desired look/colour, we might utilize a technique called “Shading” or “Toning, where “Toner” is applied to create an even richer and deeper overall look. Once that’s achieved, multiple coats of Sealer are applied to protect stain work and build thick layer for durability. The Sealer coat is sanded smooth once dry, shading is applied if needed, and then many coats of Clear top finish.

Refinishing Services

Wood re-finishing is pretty much what it describes; refinishing/re-spraying the substrate (wood, metal, MDF) to a new finish. As with Wood Finishing, the same process is quite the same with the addition of extra prep work that is essential to quality workmanship and finish. The substrate must be cleaned/degreased, sanded down with medium-rough grit abrasive, and sealed with special material to prevent bleeding of tannins and other unseen contaminants. Once this achieved, the Finishing process takes over until the work is done

Furniture Finishing & Re-finishing

We also Finish & Refinish pieces of furniture such as Dining Sets, Table Tops, Bedroom Sets, Office Desks, to name a few. Our approach to work such projects is quite the delicate one. Most clients are sentimental and have emotional attachments to their furniture, not to mention that the woodwork itself is delicate. With all that, once again, either our Finishing or Refinishing process apply.
